• We are now working on the Writer's Olympics projects. This story will be due on March 22. Every students should submit a story by that time. Participating in the Writer's Olympics will help towards each students completing their Satch Patch requirments. The following requirements are for their story they will submit. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
* One entry per student
* One author per entry
* Up to ten double spaced pages, whether handwritten or typed. (12-point font). Fewer pages are fine. No longer than ten pages.
* Conversation is not required
* Entries are to be submitted to the classroom teacher
* Mightyauthors.com is a web site that is available for students who wish to make thier own books for personal use. Stories can be published through this site and entered in the Writer's Olympics. However it is totally optional.
* Students have the option of also entering their stories in the Mightyauthors.com writing contest. Entries are due April 15. The site offers cash awards for winners.
* Stories will be judged on ideas, organization, conventions, word choice, sentence fluency and overall creativity. Contact me if you want to see the writing judging rubric.
• We have three students who are allergic to peanuts. If you send birthday treats, please send treats that DO NOT contain peanuts. Thank you very much!

You can telephone the school at 374-4910. I usually do not take the calls during class time. But before class and after class I am available. I am happy to set an appointment to meet with you as well. Call the school and they can do that.
