Third grade students are excited to learn how to write in cursive and memorize the multiplication facts. We spend a lot of time reading, writing, and thinking!

Some of the things we study in third grade are:

* Earth, Moon, & Sun
* Living & Nonliving Things
* Gravity
* Force & Motion
* Heat & Light
* Native Americans

Reading calendars are due the first Friday of each month. Third graders need to read 100 minutes each week. We will have field trips after the calendars are due. Field Trips may include swimming, the planetarium, Bean Museum, ice skating, and the Discovery Children's museum. Enjoy your reading time!

I am so excited to be working with your child! I love teaching children, especially third graders. I know that we will have a wonderful year together!

Class Supply List

Each year the school will provide the basic materials needed for school If you would like to donate to the class, these items would be very useful:

Community items that the entire class will use:

• 4 dozen sharpened pencils

• Cap erasers

• Dry erase markers (large)

• Plastic sterilite shoebox size

• 2 small glue sticks

• 1 bottle of hand sanitizer

• Kleenex (2 or 3 boxes)

• Sandwich and gallon sized Ziploc bags

• Healthy snacks for the class

• Small pencil box

• AA batteries

• $25 class donation( to help pay for science materials, field trips, gifts for Christmas and Mother's day, etc)

The following are items that your child will need:

• Markers

• Colored pencils

• Crayons

• Small Scissors
