Mrs. Stocking is the newest member of the 6th grade team. This is her 2nd year at Wasatch. Besides being a fantastic mom, Mrs. Stocking loves to read and learn about science and social studies.

Welcome to Sixth Grade!

What to Expect

The sixth grade curriculum is very exciting and diverse. We will be studying heat, light, sound, and space as well as world history. Literacy will play an important role in our class, not just during "language art" lessons, but also throughout the curriculum. Students iwll be required to read, as well as learn from what they read. We expect students to ask questions, and lots of them, for it is in asking that we all really begin to learn! We will use hands-on experiences to explore social studies, science, literature, and math. We also look forwand to many interesting fieldtrips, guest speakers, experiments, readers' theater, and class plays.

How to Prepare

As summer approaches, we would like to offer a few suggestions about what your child can do to prepare for sixth grade:

What to Bring

The school will provide the basic materials needed for class, however, the following lists of materials would be helpful (and are often found at back to school sales).

Parents please note: donations and contributions are voluntary; we do not require them in order for your child to participate fully.
