"I thought about that magic that happens when you tell a story right, and everybody hears it, not only loves the story, but they love you a little bit, too, for telling it so well."  ~Katherine Hannigan

Wasatch School Awarded Prestigious Grant

From Institute of Museum and Library Services

Thanks to a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), Wasatch Elementary has been able to purchase and upgrade technology equipment available in our school library.  Among our new purchases are two new Apple computers, two sets of computer speakers, two multimedia projectors, a multimedia cart, a VHS/DVD player and a digital camcorder with a case and tripod.

“It is so exciting!”  Remarked Miss Davis, Wasatch Librarian, “In the past we have had a mad dash to see who gets to use our available equipment.  Now we will be able to meet more of the teachers’ and students’ needs.  We will be training our teachers so that all may feel confident and knowledgeable about integrating technology into their instruction.”

The Institute of Museum and Library Services is the primary source of federal support for the nation’s 122,000 libraries and 17,500 museums. Its mission is to grow and sustain a “Nation of Learners” because life-long learning is essential to a democratic society and individual success. Through its grant making, convenings, research and publications, the Institute empowers museums and libraries nationwide to provide leadership and services to enhance learning in families and communities, sustain cultural heritage, build twenty-first-century skills, and increase civic participation.
