What do we do in Music?In music class we do everything! We use solfége to read, write, and hear music. We sing, conduct, become fluent in rhythms and beat, play games, and experience music by great composers. The music we sing is almost entirely folksong. We study music theory that most people don't learn until college (and we don't even realize we're doing it!). Our curriculum is based the the philosophies of Zoltan Kodaly (koe-die), a Hungarian composer. It is a balanced, sequential approach to learning music. |
