What began as a small group of boys several decades ago has now come to include over 70 boys and girls each year. Children are taught honor and respect for one another, their country and their values through the principles endorsed by participation in Flag Corps. This program, like so many of the great programs at Wasatch is run each year with donations. Some years the donations required are minimal and easy to find. Other years (The years 70 new red sweatshirts are needed) the funding becomes more difficult. Like any program run by donations, there is always the risk of downsizing—sometimes to the point of extinction. To meet the ongoing economic needs of the Flag Corps we are pleased to announce the formation of the Wasatch School Foundation. Through this Foundation and endowment fund will be established which will guarantee the funding and existence of the Ladies’ and Gentlemen’s Flag Corps for years to come. In addition to providing permanence for the Flag Corps, the Foundation will help fund other programs and needs at Wasatch, such as technology, music programs, landscaping and books, all of which are vitally necessary to our school community, but are insufficiently covered by traditional funding sources. We invite you to participate in the inaugural fundraiser for the Foundation by purchasing a memorial brick engraved with your name. These bricks will be laid in a patio that will be built surrounding the flag pole in conjunction with the landscaping project at the from of the school. (Yes, that monstrous cellular pole is being moved!) We are very excited about the potential for this project. 100% of your tax deductible donation will go directly to the school and therefore into the unique educational and character building environment found at Wasatch.
